This tour does require some physical fitness and ability. The bike does do most of the work if you let it, but that doesn’t mean it’s all downhill. The tour is about 24 miles round trip (sounds like a lot but not so on an Electric Bike!) and roughly 2.5 hours in a bike seat with a half hour beverage break at the halfway point. For those less physically fit or able, our downtown tour is shorter, much less strenuous, and just as much fun!
This incredible pedal begins and ends in the beautiful and historic downtown Lexington, VA. You will literally ride through a window to the past as we work our way out and back into town past various points of interest such as the campuses of Virginia Military Institute and Washington and Lee University and the early home of Confederate General Stonewall Jackson and the cemetery he was buried in. We will also ride by remnants of early industry including a river bateau and abandoned railroads. Once Outside of town, we’ll ride gorgeous backroads with waterfront and panoramic views of the Shenandoah Valley and Blue Ridge Mountains. The halfway point and turn around is a wonderful local brewery and vineyard where we can quench our thirst before returning to town. Lesson and all necessary equipment included
